Ocean Properties, Ltd & Affiliates (OPL) was started in the 1950s by Thomas T. Walsh as a small family business with one hotel and since has grown into one of the largest privately held hotel operating and development groups in North America operating 107 hotels with 17,936 guestrooms. OPL is the largest hotel company in Florida operating more than 30 hotels across the State.

The Company has corporate offices in Delray Beach, FL; Portsmouth, NH; Montreal, QC and Vancouver, BC. Major affiliates include Atlific Hotels and Resorts. Ocean Properties, Ltd & Affiliates purchased Atlific Hotels & Resorts, the largest independent hotel management company in Canada in 1997. Atlific operates hotels in Canada, from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Vancouver, British Columbia.

In addition to developing and managing hotels and resorts, Ocean Properties, Ltd & Affiliates develop and operate restaurants, spas, golf courses, commercial real estate, marina operations and boating tours, often on behalf of third party investors and lenders.

Ocean Properties, Ltd & Affiliates hotel, resort and restaurant operations are well-respected in the industry for innovative concepts and quality offerings along with the ability to generate bottom-line profits.

The Company also owns and operates a full spectrum of marine related ventures including the only privately held cruise ship terminal on the east coast located in Key West, Florida and the largest ferry service in Florida. The Company is also the owner of Maine’s largest boat touring company offering whale and puffin watching, light house tours, nature tours and National park tours.

The Company continuously seeks out and embarks on new hotel development opportunities. The Ocean Properties, Ltd & Affiliates strategy is to expand its hotel portfolio maintaining a long-term industry outlook and investment philosophy. Even during the current recession the Company has not wavered from this view forging ahead with multi-million dollar investments including the recent development of the 454 room Le Westin in Old Montreal and the acquisition, renovation and expansion of The Sagamore Resort at Lake George in Bolton Landing, New York.

The latest significant growth projects include the acquisition of the Sandpearl Resort in Clearwater Beach FL and the complete redevelopment of The Latham Hotel in Center City Philadelphia to become a modern, urban, boutique hotel. The company also debuted its third waterfront hotel in Bar Harbor in the spring of 2012, the West Street Hotel. The company has also recently purchased the nationally recognized Lake Placid Lodge in NY and Longboat Key Club in FL.
